“TNA Wrestling is the name of the company, Impact Wrestling is the name of their show on Spike. The title “Impact Wrestling” is co-owned by Spike as part of a deal where the TV channel funds some of TNA directly, like wrestler contracts. I could see TNA eventually changing their name to this, but it’d be awhile.
It’s [not] different from how “World Championship Wrestling” was originally just the name of a show Georgia Championship used, then through some circumstances with the Turner network became the name of a company.”
The thing was, I always thought I understood the rebranding as just something they were calling their show, until I noticed that going to TNAwrestling.com just turns it into ImpactWrestling.com.
From that point on, I was lost as the group seemingly avoided using the word TNA altogether unless talking about the TNA World Heavyweight championship.
