Chris Jericho vs Pyriteberg
WCW Fall Brawl
September 13th, 1998

In 1998, Chris Jericho had won the WCW Television Championship and started to take it upon himself to repeatedly call out the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Goldberg. The two were never scheduled to be involved in a feud, but Jericho felt that if he kept at it, the higher ups would see the fan’s reaction and eventually put the two in a program.

Instead of seeing that feud materialize, fans got treated to this match at the Fall Brawl PPV with Pyriteberg, a joke imitation of the WCW Champion. Two weeks later on WCW Monday Nitro, Jericho would find himself facing the real Goldberg except the match would be ruled a NO CONTEST after Jericho ran away before the two could lock up.

Fun note: The WWF would debut Gillberg, their own parody of Goldberg, two months after this whole event.
