Vampiro with The Misfits - WCW Monday Nitro 1999

As much as I love The Misfits, there really isn’t anything positive to be said about their brief stint in WCW (but to be perfectly honest, that probably wasn’t their fault).  Vampiro had brought the horror-punk quartet into WCW to be involved in his feud with Oklahoma (Former WWF writer, Ed Ferrera, doing a terrible Jim Ross impersonation), but they really didn’t do much beyond giving Vampiro a cool looking stable of…um…misfits. 

None of The Misfits had any training for professional wrestling. The only member that had the actual intimidating build of a professional wrestler (Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, bottom photo on right) had a bad back and couldn’t take bumps. Regardless, Jerry Only (top photo, far left) managed to find himself in a handful of matches with Vampiro at his side AND actually has a win in the books against “Dr. Death” Steve Williams. The two faced one-on-one in a steel cage match and Only won after pitifully falling through the cage door after an irish whip by Williams.
