Whatever Happened to the Code of Honor?

Things have changed since the beginning of the company. The Code of Honor is rarely if ever followed anymore. If the match is being contested between a babyface and a heel, the bad guy often times refuses to shake the good guy’s hand. At the most recent ROH show in Philadelphia, the Code was offered in every match. The only time it was followed was in the main event between Davey Richards and Jay Lethal, both good guys. In essence, the Code has become a vestige of a time long past and a casualty of ROH trying to get more mainstream approval, and thus painting their alignments in a less vague manner. How else can the fans know someone’s bad if they don’t shake hands before the match?

CM Punk vs Chris Brown — Punk Throws Out the Challenge

There was a brief flare-up on Twitter between the two stars that seemingly died off immediately due to Brown deleting his response to where he accused CM Punk of being on steroids that make “it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women”.

CM Punk has since then released this video to where he challenges the singer to step into the ring with him with all the proceeds going to a women’s shelter of Punk’s choosing.

“I will choke you out and I will make you feel as weak and as powerless and scared and alone as any woman who has the misfortune of knowing a sad cowardly little boy such as yourself.”

We here at Drop ToeHold applaud CM Punk for taking a stand against people who commit acts of violence against women but like to remind him that Chris JERICHO is the woman-beater that he’ll be facing at Wrestlemania, not Brown.

I Hope You’ve Enjoyed These Last Two Worthless Months

During “The Road To Wrestlemania”, you assumedly start at point A, work your way through some rising action and reach point B, which is, uh, Wrestlemania. So if you start a thing where John Cena has been forced into an accidental love triangle with Eve Torres and Zack Ryder brought on by the demented actions of Kane, who I guess hates the Rock a lot and wants Cena to go Super Saiyan and destroy him with Hate Powers at Mania you either need to

End the Kane/Cena story at Mania, or

End the Kane/Cena story at Elimination Chamber with something meaningful and important that plays into the next month of build against The Rock

And the way Kane was talking, you assumed Cena would come out of this feud changed somehow, more in touch with the violent side that makes him toss people off cars and choke them with ring ropes until they die or whatever, but … well, lol, nope. The John Cena vs. Kane hate embracement feud ends with Cena winning another match against Kane and being the exact same semi-serious Southern Preacher by way of Army Boston schmuck motherf**ker he was in December.

Why did this happen? I know you can’t journey Rock back in from the Mysterious Island in January to build your story, but why give Cena a three act play where all three acts are just the first f**king act? If you’re gonna give him filler, can’t you give him filler with wrestling matches, and not melodramatic hell-pit rape and scandal story?

WWE Wrestlefest Gameplay Trailer

Like I said last week, this iPhone/iPad title looks like something that should just be avoided at all costs. This quick clip of the gameplay not only confirms my original assessment of the downloadable title but also highlights the game’s bare-bones overall presentation. To pay $5.29 for a game that has zero sound effects for your basic attacks and no in-game match music is kinda shitty especially when you consider that the original 1991 arcade title which THQ is (supposedly) recreating had both of those! Plus commentary!! And it only cost 25 cents!!!

A rush job designed to cash-in on peoples’ nostalgia — stay away.
