Even when the ROH fans didn’t want to love Bryan Danielson, there was no way they couldn’t. This match carries on a theme I’ve noticed watching other pre-2010 ROH matches - so many near-falls and moments where lesser wrestlers would have given up and let themselves be pinned, it’s nerve-wracking, and it’s GREAT.

In the course of my livetweeting ROH DVDs on the weekends, I’ve found a small group of people who never got a chance to see Samoa Joe work much before going to TNA. This match is a fine way to rectify that… I think. Plus, American Rage Machine Dragon Bryan Danielson and KENTA, who leads the list of people whose knees I just really need to avoid.
