Jeff Jarrett Breaks Guitar Over Buff Bagwell’s Head - WCW Monday Nitro 10/18/1999
Instead of trying to make sense of the Vince Russo’s jobber angle with Buff Bagwell, I’ll just focus on the other man in the ring, Jeff Jarrett.
Jarrett’s return to WCW was a complete surprise for fans as he had wrestled the night before against Chyna at the WWF No Mercy PPV. He ended up losing the match and his Intercontinental Championship to the Ninth Wonder of the World (making Chyna the first ever woman to hold the title) but backstage politics ended up giving Double J the upper-hand, once it was all said and done.
Jarrett’s contract expired one day before the WWF PPV, which led to Jarrett getting a rather large pay-out to perform at the show since he refused to resign with the company. That actual amount has never been disclosed, but Chyna mentioned the number to be somewhere around $300,000 in her 2001 autobiography, If They Only Knew.

I posted this photo a couple of weeks ago without the write-up, but I felt like it should go back up again to complete this whole feature. Like I mentioned already, it’s extremely difficult to remember the period where Chyna was this brutal enforcer and bodyguard for D-Generation X. Her foray into the world of porn has pretty much black-listed her from ever being mentioned in the current world of the WWE, and it’s a shame that the company stays away from even uttering her name or her accomplishments.
I didn’t expect Chyna to show up at RAW #1000 for the D-Generation X reunion, but I was kinda surprised to see that WWE.com never once brought her up in any of the DX retrospectives.

For the those of you who are wondering what former Chyna has been up to lately, she posted this “Incredible” picture on her website earlier this week:
“Chyna and film director Axel Braun behind the scenes of “She Hulk XXX”, her third movie from Vivid Entertainment. Chyna plays Jennifer Walters, the cousin of The Incredible Hulk. Chyna’s co-stars include Gracie Glam, Lexie Belle, Jennifer Dark, Nicole Aniston, Alexis Texas, Mark Wood, Alec Knight, Alan Staford, Ryan Driller, Dale Dabone and Eric Masterson.”
I don’t know what’s better — the fact that two of her co-stars have penis puns as their porn names or that one named himself after the Marvel superhero Thunderstrike, who played the role of Thor in the early 90’s.
