I’m not sure what I’m seeing here, but if what I’m seeing is correct, then Bill DeMott just TOUT’d out what Sara Del Rey’s new position is within the WWE — an NXT Coach/Trainer:

“Here are the Coaches, where are the future superstars? Follow me on twitter for all updates”
Oh yeah — Norman Smiley and Joey Mercury are also in the video.

Eddie Kingston Has a War On His Hands
After defeating Mike Quackenbush to become Chikara’s first ever Grand Champion, Eddie Kingston has had 5 title defenses. Some of his opponents didn’t stand a chance (Vin Gerard), others wanted one last hurrah before moving up to the big leagues (Brodie Lee), and some had a pretty damn good chance of upseating the War King. Who is left on the roster that could be (should be) next in line?
My money is on Sara Del Rey. I’ve been saying it since they announced the championship. While other companies see women as a side attraction or a means to get cheap heat on an aggressive heel, Chikara’s always shown women as being able to stand toe to toe with the guys. And why not? In a sport where the outcome is pre-determined and your age, weight and height don’t matter as much as the cash you bring in, women need to be seen as equals. And when it comes to Sara Del Rey, she’s usually not equal. She’s usually better.
Maybe the rumors are true and Sara Del Rey is signing with WWE. Maybe this will end with her laying down for Eddie before going to FCW. But I hope not.
I don’t know if anybody in all of CHIKARA deserves a shot at the Grand Championship more than Sara Del Rey. She’s defeated Icarus, Claudio Castagnoli, El Generico, and countless others since last summer, not to mention winning the 2011 Cibernetico. Sara Del Rey has solidified herself amongst the elite in CHIKARA and all that work comes to ahead in Portland, ME at “The Great Escape.” As far as I know, this is a first time ever encounter. You won’t find two other people in CHIKARA who can dish out and take punishment like these two can. This is going to be a war, and it will be epic. The main question as always, is can Sara do it? Will the Queen of Wrestling topple the King of Diamonds, or will Eddie make his sixth successful defense of the Grand Championship?
Next Grand Champ.
10 Things I Want To Happen In 2012: Sara Del Rey to pursue Eddie Kingston for the Chikara Grand Championship. I want it to be long and arduous, and I want it to build up into the stiffest match ever at the biggest stage Chikara can offer.
Seconded.
Sara Del Rey achieving one of her dreams - to kick Aja Kong in the head.
I’m excited about this Honor Heart Skill tumblr joining the TWC or whatever you kids call it. Not sure who runs it but I’m all for expressing the virtues of Joshi Puroresu.
Speaking of which, Chikara’s weekend of Joshimania shows, headlined by the Round Robin Series of Ayako Hamada, Sara Del Rey, and Aja Kong, is already on sale. So if you’re interested in womens wrestling, that is definitely something you should check out.
