Did You Know?
Jim Johnston: “Wow, this is for the serious trivia lover, it is me singing Dude Love’s theme and, while it stretches the definition of the word, I did “sing” one of the early Smackdown themes. I was hearing some early metal stuff and was always shocked how bad the vocals were, and that the lyrics were absolutely unintelligible. The theme I had written was in this style, and I couldn’t find a singer, so I did it myself. There are no lyrics, I just sang gibberish. I had fans contact me for a lyric sheet which, of course, I could not provide.”
This about sums up the current WWE Champion.
Longtime friend and recent (re?)watcher of wrestling Remy, speaking for the common man (and a lot of WWE fans right now, judging by the reactions I see on Twitter and Tumblr during RAW and Smackdown lately).
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Vince McMahon - WWF SmackDown! [11/8/1999]
To help promote Arnold’s film End of Days, the WWF welcomed the action star to their program and even presented him a WWF Championship Replica Title to the “World Box Office Champion”. Schwarzenegger stayed relatively away from any in-ring action for a majority of his time on-screen with the lone exception of backhanding THE EVER-LOVIN’ SPIT out of Triple H.
Fun segment for a movie that wasn’t too terrible.
The Rock Returns “Home” to Smackdown - WWE Smackdown Tapings [1/8/2013]
A great photo taken by photographer named Ryan Loco who took several fan shots at last night’s Smackdown in Miami. Since the guy gets paid to take professional photographs, his cameras are a little bit better than the one you take with you whenever you go see wrasslin’ live.
Click the link to see several similar shots from last night’s taping.
Alberto Del Rio wins the World Heavyweight Championship at the SmackDown taping: January 8, 2013
Now this is a surprise. My guess is the Big Show would have retained the title until WrestleMania, where he would drop it to Ryback. Good to see the Mexican aristocrat finally getting the full babyface push.
I hear Daniel Bryan and Damien Sandow are killing it on SmackDown commentary tonight.
“What are you going to do when that happens this Sunday?” - Sandow to Bryan after Rhodes kicks Kane in the chest.
“I’m gonna move, because I’m so fast.” - Daniel Bryan
Cody Rhodes Makes a Spectacular Entrance - WWE Smackdown Live Show [4/12/12]
One of the best wrestling photos that I’ve seen. It looks like it’s not even real, like it’s something that should be in a comic book or video game.
Kurt Angle - WWE Smackdown [10/08/2002]
Everything about this photo is perfect. The entrance pose, the pyro, the giant Smackdown fist; I can almost hear the “you suck” chants!
Wade Barrett Returns to the Ring - WWE Smackdown 9/7/2012
I’ve always enjoying seeing Barrett in the ring due to how great he looks. His size, his build, his crooked nose; he just fits the part as a brawler perfectly.
Chris Jericho - WWE Smackdown! 10/20/2009
This smug picture of Y2J confused the hell out of me whenever I first came across it as I completely forgot about the two separate tag team championships that were in the WWE at this time. Since Jeri-Show were the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions, Jericho wore two belts down his stroll to the ring to take on Batista and Rey Mysterio.
