Nothing says classy like a commemorative wrestling plate
I’d kill a man for this entire set.
Sting vs. Mike Awesome circa 2000 at WCW Thunder in Springfield, IL.
Managed to snap a shot of Awesome being sent through a table off of a back body drop.
Booker T, Kevin Nash, Disco Inferno, Sting, and Scott Steiner [6/18/2000]
An interesting shot of a gaggle of WCW Legends hanging out with Disco Inferno that took place at a SoapCity.com celebrity auction. The wrestlers paired up with stars from several daytime soap operas and painted several pet food bowls with all of the proceeds going to The Humane Society of New York.
I don’t know how much a Kevin Nash signed puppy bowl would fetch at auction but just know that there’s SOMEONE out there with that item proudly displayed in their house.
Bloodied Sting - TNA Bound for Glory [10/16/2011]
Taken from the 2011 match between Sting ang Hulk Hogan, this photo is one of my favorites of The Stinger. The man was in full Joker-mode around this time, but the blood pouring down and mixing with the clown-white face paint created such a cool, classic shot.
Cracked Subscription Advert - Cracked Magazine #334 [May 1999]
A fun little piece of art that was most likely reprinted for this 1999 issue as all of the gimmicks shown here were completely outdated by then.
[This Day in Wrestling History] Ric Flair vs Sting - WCW Monday Nitro: The Night of Champions [3/26/2001]
After being bought out by Vince McMahon, WCW decided to end their final Nitro with a match between two guys who embodied what World Championship Wrestling was. This Sting vs Flair match wasn’t an epic match for the ages or part of a vicious blood-feud, instead it was a bittersweet moment between two wrestlers who had nothing but respect for one another. That respect completely shows during WCW’s last shining moment as the two can be visibly seen smiling and joking throughout the match, even calling one or two spots out in the open.
It’s Friday night! Bust open that WCW PARTY PAK!
This thing’s reserved exclusively for the greatest fucking party ever.
Very impressed with WCW: The Best of Monday Nitro Vol. 2’s packaging. I’ve gotten through disc one and am already loving the set. Expect some sort of write-up or post highlighting the best parts of this collection of Monday Nitro moments.
Toy Biz Evolution of Sting Box Set
I’m not too sure what’s going on in this WCW.com exclusive set. The above photo is a picture of the finalized product that was being sold on eBay, but the bottom is a scan from a ToyFare WCW Figure guide which showcases three completely different versions of Stingers that apparently were sold. To make things weirder, the outside of the box (seen above) reflect the style of the figures actually included in the set, but the inside of the box has photos that reflect the style of the way-cooler Sting guys found in the guide.
As far as I can tell, that brown hair’d red-and-yellow Hulkamania Stinger was never produced which is a damn shame.
Sting Contemplating - WCW Magazine #30 [August 1997]
It might be a bit early, but I’m already considering going as Sting this year at Halloween. I mean, I have the WCW Heavyweight Championship replica from 1999 with his name on it, surely it wouldn’t be that much more trouble to recreate his long singlet and jacket, right?
