September 2nd, 2002After Triple H was being awarded the World Heavyweight Championship by Eric Bischoff, Bubba Ray Dudley took exception to this. In this video, it’s almost like a “shoot”. Bubba Ray speaks up for the guys who are perpetually stuck in the midcard, irritated that The Game has been on top of the company for 3 straight years with no breaks. And, though it took over 10 years, Bubba Ray Dudley would make good on his promise to The Game, finally gaining the top prize in TNA, capturing the Heavyweight Championship.

Bubba “Bully” Ray Dudley has always been great on the mic and I wonder if this promo here was the catalyst to his eventual singles run in the WWE.

The Shield’s Extreme Rules Post Show Promo

In case you missed it last night - and with this being the internet and most of the internet (at least, the wrestling sections of it) having very strong feelings one way or the other about the Shield and Dean Ambrose in particular, it would’ve been almost impossible to miss - the Shield all hold WWE belts now: Rollins and Reigns won the Tag Titles from Team Hell No, and Ambrose defeated Kofi Kingston to win the US Championship in a match that included, of all things, a crossface chickenwing (!) and a butterfly superplex.
Here’s some thoughts from the Shield after the PPV.
As you’d expect, James Hornsby of BotchedSpot would have some pretty kick ass wrestling signs for tonight’s WWE PPV.
Payback Promo Hints at Heel Turn
It’s purely speculation, but the promo for the WWE PPV Payback features Randy Orton hearing voices in his head. While plans can (and often do) change at the last minute, it is a nice tease that Orton may finally turn heel again.
I just hope it’s as good as his last heel turn.
